Honestly, I have tried almost everything. I loved Notion but it was almost too open in its structure and I just wasted time creating the perfect space. I later found that perfect space with the simplistic productivity of Amplenote. I love the ability to create a task from any line in a note and then having those centralized based on Note tags. You can then time-block those tasks in a calendar and sync to your main calendar apps. I find this just the perfect workflow for me.

Some Fusion360 tips: - Always fully constrain your sketches (all blue lines have turned black) by adding dimensions (hotkey d) and constraints. It will prevent your design from blowing up if you (later on) change a dimension in one of your early sketches. - Get used to using patterns for anything repetitive. Be it 3D Patterns (Create -> Pattern -> Rectengular / Circular / on Path) or 2D (when inside a sketch: Create -> Rectangular / Circular Pattern). - Make ample use of parameters, define "User Parameters" (+ icon in Parameters window) where ever it makes sense. (If your screensize allows, id' recommend to klick on the 3 dots next to "Change Parameters" and check "Pin to toolbar". I have not once seen this function overused.) - If starting with an f3d / step file by somebody else, make sure "capture design history" is enabled. (Right click in the top left corner on what ever it says above "Document Settings", it's the bottom most option that will show up in that right-click-menue.) One tip for 3d-printing: - Most "glow in the dark" filament is abrasive and should not be printed (in larger quantities) without a hardened nozzle. (I don't know if your X1 Carbon came with a hardened nozzle.)

BTW if you need to repeat an item over and over you can use pattern instead of copy and paste to create a pattern of the object

Fun video! Even with good measurement tools, it can be hard to get tight fits correct on the first (or second) go. If it is a bigger print, I always print a tester piece of the dimension I want to check. This can often be done without more modelling, just by stopping the print after the first couple of layers are done.

Obsidian is my thing, platform independent, I can sync it with all my devices on through my own NAS. Works with markdown... Just amazing.

4:20 what? Who? Me? No. I didn't spend half my Saturday trying to work because I didn't get enough done during the week, and I definitely didn't spend half that time configuring my text editor and thinking about which software license to get. That's definitely not exactly how I spent my day yesterday. Doesn't sound like me at all. Not even a little bit. I'm not watching this because I'm overly interested in tools at the expense of actually doing the things I supposedly need them for. That can't be it.

I use confluence all the time, but only for work. Then I use OneNote for school and Apple notes for personal. It helps me keep the three separate.

My one wish is to be able to either change or get rid of the little folder icon in Apple notes.

ONE of My problems with Notion is the desktop version is almost too full featured, like many apps in this space you spend way way too much time setting it up, always tweaking it you actually become less productive because of the time suck. Then on top of that the IOS version is just way to cluttered. Notes is honestly very close to perfect and because it’s Apple we’re not in danger of them spending too much time on it and forking it up.

I wanna say congratulations on the birth of your little girl..... I ended up having to have my daughter at 24 weeks unfortunately..... Her heart rate dropped to the low 30s and they had to take her.... I was actually fully dilated and i hadn't had any contractions whatsoever. I also had 4,000+ protein in my urine.... When she was born she only weighed 10.5 ounces and was only 9 inches long from head to toe......

God this is so true, I get so hung up on the tools I use, rather than the work I have to do.

one thing that has helped me with 3d printing parts that have constraints is to do a test print. basically a small slice of the original model that I can use to verify measurements, mechanisms, etc without doing a full print. It helps you dial in the printer if need be, potentially save materials on prints that don't pass validation, and because it prints faster then a full print you'll have shorter gaps of time between validation and modifying the model.

My #1 fusion360 tip: Click the dropdown for "Modify" find "Change Parameters" click the 3 dots and then pin to toolbar. Replace most measurements with variables via the parameter button. I don't use the gridfinity plugin, but it likely will allow the use of parameters which would help you create subsequent boxes with the same heights, etc.

About your problem with the plugin: I too really hate that you can not change anything after the fact. HOWEVER: If your problem is just the "standard parameters" there is a button for that at the bottom! "Save as new defaults". Hope that helps

I love Apple Notes and tried Notion but I ended up with 💻Craft Docs💻, it's Apple Notes in pretty and 2.0, yet minimalistic and simple. Big fan of Apple Reminders as well, I use it a lot. Craft Docs finally has a Reminders feature for simple to-do's like in Apple Notes, which I have to get used to using more. I hope this comment helps some folks out there. yup notion is not really for quick to dos. but everything else, i use it a lot. for to-dos i just use apple notes and simplenote

I switched from Evernote to Apple Notes like 12 years ago or something and never looked back and never been tempted with other apps. It works for my crazy brain and its one of the apps that Apple frequently updates and makes better. I use the "Quick Notes" feature constantly when a random thought or idea hits my brain. I really hope that they integrate AI into Notes eventually to help me organize and find my notes better.

Yeah, doing custom one item only usage boxes is wasting your filament. This is my opinion. That's why I print as much versatile models as I can. Also I could not catch that grid idea. Why could not I just put boxes without grid? What will it change? I do not like gridfinity, though it have so much items, I just cannot to choose what I need so much of them there are. I just tired of scrolling all of them. And for my opinion they took to much plastic for bottom and that grid. You can use magnets, but what if you will store some metal stuff there? I do not need that interference. I ended with multigrid. Though I had to redesign it a little. I do not like the idea that extension and boxes are different items. I would prefer to convert extension to box and vice versa. So I created custom bottom, which can inserted into extension. Also again I do not understand that grid concept. Why do I need this grid anyway? I just created custom grids 2x3 which can be used to combined bins which are clicked there and which also can stand firmly above another 2x3 block. And this is really cool. I can group items into this blocks and get whole block to work with it. And later put it back. This is what I love in 3d printing. You can print exactly what you need. And while some people waste plastic for custom shaped bins which will be a waste when the item will change its form or become obsolete. I prefer one time print and multiple uses for that. Also I would prefer PETG as it is more temperature resistance and more elastic, it will not broke as easy as PLA it will bend before it. Also PETG is cheaper at my place. Much cheaper. But that's another story.

I can't leave Notion. It took me a while to get used to it, and I have watched some tutorials about tables especially. Also, I don't spend any time on templates. When you start putting your information in and try 2-3 templates, you understand what suits you, and you can continue with the same template. Also, when I learn something with the AI, I can ask it to simplify something, make it into bullets, or translate it into my language to understand it better.

Having adhd myself I too struggled a lot with Notion…. To the point I just gave up on it….I was getting burned out by using it and constantly hitting some blockers….mainly how bad Notion is on the Ipad… it’s terrible on Ipad

After using so many note taking apps, including Notion like yourself, I ran into a video about Apple notes months back and i tried it and wow, it's such an amazing simple program. I heard it's also getting love in the future. I use it for everything and it's on all my devices when I need it.

I agree that the form factor will probably improve, but I could probably even live with the existing form factor if it wasn't just playing online. When I can use it to type a Word doc or work in a spreadsheet, or edit a photo AND SAVE IT LOCALLY TO MY NAS, that's when I'll get excited about it. Even if while working somewhere else, if I could save to an external drive, tha would be okay. As far as AI goes, I'm a photographer, and those of us that sell our work were concerned for a while. What we've found, though, is that when people buy a photographic print, it's never just the picture, there's also the story of the picture an the story of the photographer that are a part of the purchase. People who want cheap AI-generated prints are buying them at mass-market stores like TJ Maxx, but people who want a photograph of a place that the artist experienced, stood there in the atmosphere and waited and watched for the perfect shot, they also want to hear the story. It makes a connection, and for those buyers, that has value. On RUclips, it's going to be a part of my overall business strategy, but it will never be my whole business. Every time Google changes how they pay, it's a unilateral decision that you can't negotiate, and if your whole business is all on RUclips, you've built it on rented land with no lease.
